Good Tuesday Afternoon WVND!
I hope this email finds you enjoying summer! I am looking forward to gathering with you at our district WVN District NMI Convention July 27th. Packet pick up and registration will begin at 8:30 am with convention beginning at 9:00 am. Our feature speakers and guest missionaries this year are the Radcliffes – Jim and Kathy (Papua New Guinea). We welcome the Radcliffe’s and look forward to hearing their message!
The 2017 WVN NMI Convention Theme is NMI will finish this race The scripture reference is taken from Acts 20:24 – “I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me -the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.”
Each church is asked to bring 2 new pairs of children’s sized shoes to convention (one girl, one boy). There will be receptacles for the shoes in the tabernacle during convention. The shoes will be provided to needy children in time for the school year. Thank you in advance for your generous giving!
Crisis Care Kits will be collected during the convention. Please visit the general church website to ensure your church is properly packing the specific items requested by headquarters. Each CCK box requires a $10 check made out to WVN NMI and a $2 check made out to Global Treasurer. CCK’s are a great way to involve all age groups within the congregation. What a fun project to engage in on a Wednesday night!
I am excited about convention as I always feel inspired and as if my batteries have been recharged following our time of worship and collaboration. I shared with my council I once heard an evangelist refer to Summersville campground as a “thin place.” I have never forgotten that reference as I wholeheartedly agreed with that term. Summersville camp is where Heaven seems a little closer. Jesus and I have had more life changing conversations on those grounds than anywhere else. I leave ready to set the world on fire. It is my earnest prayer those in attendance will experience the same desire -to go and change the world. A yearning to share the good news of hope, of a Savior who can love and restore. Join with me in prayer as we anticipate convention 2017.
God bless you and your endeavors,
Beth Wyers-Burgey
